Jakub Jankto spent 2 and a half months on the sidelines of Madrid, now he is finally back. He came on for the final 5 minutes of the draw against Athletic Bilbao.
The match against Vallecano on 18th October was a fatal one for Jankto. Already in the 14th minute he got badly injured, the coach was worried if he would have a broken tibia. In the end it was not, but Jankt was suffering from a sprained ankle.
So he missed 11 La Liga games, during which Getafe finally got some results and started to pick up points after an opening six losses in a row. At the moment, they have 11 points, but it is still not enough to get them out of the relegation zone and the Azulones are in 19th place.
In Monday’s match, Getafe got a rather valuable point against a strong Athletic Bilbao, who are in 9th place in La Liga. The match ended in a goalless draw and Jakub Jankto was finally ready for the game, coming on in the 86th minute.
“After almost three months I returned to the pitch. Thank you to everyone who helped me. Thank you also to our fans. We fight together until the end!” wrote Jankto on his Instagram.
Getafe will then face a rescue match against Alavés. The latter is in 17th place, the last non-relegation spot, with 14 points. Next, Jankto and co. will face Baleará in the cup, then they will take on Osasuna. After that, they will play the table leader Real Madrid.
