Jamaica have two Nations League group stage matches under their belt after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. First, it lost two points in Suriname in a 1-1 draw, then won 3-1 in a home rematch.
Mexico, on the other hand, squeaked through World Cup qualification and advanced from second place, with first-place Canada only a score better. It has played only one game in the Nations League so far, beating Suriname 3-0.
In the absence of Mikhail Antoia, Bournemouth striker Jamal Lowe is the mainstay of the home side, as well as wingers Leon Bailey from Aston Villa and Junior Flemmings from Toulouse, and midfielder Ravel Morrison with Manchester United experience.
In the Mexican jersey, Orbelín Pineda, currently at Celta Vigo, has made a good case for a move to La Liga. Mexican América striker Henry Martín has made six appearances and assisted four goals this season.
Jamaica, despite having a relatively good squad, has not done well at all, winning only two of their last eleven games across all competitions.
On the other hand, Mexico is not in ideal form either, winning only twice out of the last five matches, falling 0:3 in a friendly against Uruguay in June.
Considering Jamaica’s below-average defense, I think Mexico will win the match.
