Jalen Green was the driving force in Houston’s win at Washington, scoring 42 points to tie his career high in the NBA. Slovenia’s Luka Doncic recorded another triple-double as Dallas celebrated an important win at the Spurs.

Jalen Green tied his career high

In the Washington Wizards vs. Houston Rockets (114:137), Jalen Green scored a career-high 42 points and tied his career-high in the NBA. He also added 10 rebounds and 3 assists in nearly 36 minutes on the floor, committing just two turnovers.

Green was ably seconded by Amen Thompson, who added another 25 points. And a total of five Houston players scored in double figures. On the Wizards side, eight players scored at least 10 points. But no one scored more than 16 points in the game.

The game was very even until halftime, which Houston won by three points. The Rockets dominated the third quarter of the game 41:25 and didn’t let the victory be taken away. Houston won for the sixth time in a row and is now 11th in the Western Conference table. The Warriors and the Lakers are competing for the eighth position.

Luka Doncic has another triple-double

In the game San Antonio Spurs vs Dallas Mavericks (107:113), Slovenian star Luka Doncic recorded another triple-double for the Mavericks. This time he scored only 18 points, but he added 10 rebounds and 16 assists to his teammates.

Doncic, however, was not shooting well at all in this game. In 41 minutes on the floor, he sent a total of 27 shot attempts at the San Antonio basket. But only 6 of them ended up in the basket. Of his 12 3-point attempts, only two were made. It’s only the sixth time in his career that Doncic has had a shooting success rate below 25 percent.

Famed Mavericks bench coach Jason Kidd commented on the performance, saying that not every win is pretty, but of course it counts. In this game, Doncic was replaced shooting-wise by teammate Kyrie Irving, who scored 28 points and was once again the key figure behind the important win. In the last game, he converted the winning shot at the last second.

This time, Tre Jones led home San Antonio with 22 points. The home team’s biggest star Victor Wembanyama was held to just 12 points this time. But he also recorded 11 rebounds and added a great 56 blocked shots. He is unmatched in that department this season.

He has already recorded 27 total blocks this season and with an average of 3.5 blocks per game, he is clearly the best player this season.
