Coming up this weekend, we’ll see more of Jake Paul in the boxing ring. The fight, which has already been postponed twice, will hopefully no longer get any setbacks and we will see which fighter lives up to his words.
Brother of undefeated boxing legend Tyson Fury, Tommy has already cancelled his fight with the star YouTuber twice. The first time an injury to Fury ruled out a potential clash between the two men and the second time the British boxer had visa problems.
Now, both previously unbeaten boxers are in Saudi Arabia, where they are completing the final stage of their preparations ahead of their fight on Sunday.
During the enclosure in downtown Dubai where the fight will take place, Jake Paul experienced a scene straight out of a Rocky movie. A group of children appeared behind the star YouTuber, admiring the younger of the Paul brothers.
“He high-fived me, I’ll never wash my hands again, he’s the best boxer, ” one of the children shouted in a video posted on the Top Rank Boxing YouTube channel. “You should definitely wash your hands, ” responded a smiling Paul.
The scene is straight out of Rocky 2, with Sylvester Stallone as Rocky running through the streets of Philadelphia and climbing the stairs surrounded by his fans.
Can Jake Paul live up to his cinematic idol? While Paul is eager to silence his critics by defeating the professional boxer, Fury is, in his own words, looking to banish the YouTuber from the boxing world. The bookmakers’ odds are, perhaps a little surprisingly, on Jake Paul’s side.
