Jablonec finished third after a great season last year, even chasing second-placed Sparta until the end of the league. As a reward, Petr Rada’s charges got a clash with the famous Celtic.
The latter has completely different options, both financially and in terms of stadium and conditions. Now, for example, the second team of the Scottish league could afford to bring in goalkeeper Hart from Tottenham, whose salary will quite possibly exceed all Jablonec players combined.
But in football it’s not all about money, on the pitch it’s about other things. And Petr Rada believes that his team is ready to go beyond their opponents.
“I want to beat everyone. We have to give a good performance against them and try to advance. We are happy to play Celtic. The people who come here to watch football deserve it,” Rada said at the pre-match press conference.
Hübschman and co. should be driven to win by the home atmosphere. The experienced coach hopes the Na Střelnici stadium will be filled to capacity. Despite all the pitfalls of today.
“The stadium should be sold out. Some people may be afraid of covid things. But if I’m a football fan from Prague, I’ll come and watch,” Rada is clear.
Jablonec will challenge Celtic on Thursday at 17:45, the rematch is scheduled for a week later at Celtic Park.
