I’ve never experienced such an atmosphere in European Cups before, it was an unlucky match, says Trpišovský after the defeat

Slavia entered the fight for qualification to the Champions League on Wednesday evening, but unsuccessfully. They lost 2:0 to Ferencváros and will have a lot of catching up to do in the rematch. How did Jindřich Trpišovský evaluate the match?
Sešiváni entered the match with the Hungarian hegemon well, but it was not enough. The Prague team literally had a lot of bad luck in the match.
“The key moments were against us. The result is unflattering. We did not take advantage of the chances we created. Theopponent, on the other hand, punished our mistakes and the result is what it is,” said Jindřich Trpišovský after the match.
Slavia scored the first goal themselves when Ondrej Kolář failed to handle the ball from Taras Kačaraba. The second goal was caused by a foul by Kačaraba in the penalty area, which meant a penalty for the opponent.
According to Trpišovský, the first goal was not Kolář’s fault. The ball hit the turf, causing it to skip over the Slavia goalkeeper’s leg. It could have happened to anyone.
However, Sešiovans also had their chances, but their efficiency was at the freezing point. “Overall, it was a rather unfortunate match,” the coach of the Czech champion lamented.
The first goal also put Ferencváros in a position that suited them best. Until then, Slavia had been the better team. Trpišovský then remarked that communication is important, but it absolutely did not work in Budapest. The reason is simple, the excellent atmosphere in the stadium.
“The whole bench was shouting at the defence, but you couldn’t hear it at all at 20 metres. The atmosphere was incredible, I’ve never seen that in European cups,” praised the fans of the opponent, the former Liberec coach.
In the rematch, however, Susians will be able to rely on their own supporters. But they also have to change something on the pitch. Trpišovský spoke immediately after the match about the need to improve and make the work in the opponent’s hexagon more effective.
But the disappointment must be put behind him. Slavia will play Sigma Olomouc this weekend and the team must concentrate on their condition.
Apart from the result, Trpišovský will also be troubled by Petr Ševčík’s injury, who has a sprained ankle, so he will have to take a break and cannot be expected to make the rematch. Slavia will have to wait about three more weeks for Michael Krmencik.
