Toni Kroos has been a key figure for Real Madrid in recent years, playing 42 games for the club last season. However, this year has been a very painful one for him as he struggled with groin problems that echoed during matches.
But now things are finally looking good and the return of the German midfielder, who last played a competitive match at the European Championships against England, is imminent.
“I’m happy because I was able to finish my third training session with the team without the pain I’ve had for the last 6 or 7 months, so it’s a really great feeling,” the White Ballet midfielder revealed in an interview with Goal.
The situation has even improved to the point that Kroos could be ready for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Sheriff Tiraspol, who visit Madrid.
However, the decision is up to Carlo Ancelotti. “I’m ready and I think I’ll be part of the team,” believes the 31-year-old technician extraordinaire.
Eduardo Camavinga, meanwhile, has joined the royals and is putting in a great performance to claim a place in the starting line-up permanently.
Thanks to the 18-year-old, Real Madrid now have 3 points in the Champions League group stage. Camavinga came on the pitch for the last 10 minutes of the 0:0 game against Inter and assisted on Rodrygo’s goal that marked the victory.
Besides that, the talented Frenchman also played in 4 La Liga games, scoring in the first one against Celta Vigo.
He probably won’t replace Kroos in the line-up yet, but he is putting in some really excellent performances for his age and perhaps everyone is looking forward to seeing what a great footballer Camavingo can grow into.
It must be added that he can learn a lot alongside Luka Modric, the aforementioned German midfielder and others!
