Slavia Prague wanted him, but he will eventually play in the highest football competition in France. The Nigerian striker has chosen a new place to play and will not be presented to the Prague fans in Eden.

Not long ago, Slavia Prague sought the services of Akor Adams. The forward from Nigeria is now leaving Norwegian Lilleström, but he will not join the team.

Adams will join French Ligue 1 participant Montpellier, a club whose jersey was worn in the past by former Slavist, defender Lukáš Pokorný.

When I arrived here, I had a good feeling. I think I’m in the right place at the right time to take a step forward,” Adams told the club’s website.

“I can’t wait to meet everyone at the club and start this new adventure,” the 23-year-old burly playmaker and pure goal killer continued in the interview.

The one hundred and ninety centimetre tall player is a former Nigeria Under-20 international, having played two games for the Nigerian Under-20 side. He did not feature among the scorers in them.

According to Transfermarkt, Montpellier will pay Lilleström four and a half million euros for him, or almost one hundred and ten million Czech crowns. Slavia was not willing to pay such an amount.

Adams is a product of the Nigerian Jamba Football Academy, but already in 2018 he headed to Norwegian Sogndal. From there, he was bought out by the more famous Lilleström in 2022.

It took him just one season in the jersey of that outfit to impress even bigger European clubs. To score fifteen goals in fifteen league games is a great feat.
