It’s insane! PSG offered Mbappé an outrageous salary and bonus to avoid going to Real Madrid

Such an offer is unprecedented. Cristiano Ronaldo went to Real Madrid and Juventus for 100 million euros, now PSG wants to give the same amount to Kylian Mbappe as a bonus for staying in Paris and not going to Real Madrid.

Such an offer is unprecedented. Cristiano Ronaldo went to Real Madrid and Juventus for 100 million euros, now PSG wants to give the same amount to Kylian Mbappe as a bonus for staying in Paris and not going to Real Madrid.

This saga has been dragging on since last summer. Real Madrid want to acquire Kylian Mbappé, the French super talent has made no secret of his desire to leave for Spain. He has been a fan of Los Blancos since childhood and sees an engagement with the Madrid giant as the best opportunity to regularly conquer trophies and win the Ballon d’Or.

But PSG have not let him go to the Iberian Peninsula, even though his contract expires after this season. If Mbappé does not sign a new one, he will leave for free. Real Madrid offered over 200 million euros last August.

But the Qatari sheikhs don’t care about money. Instead of collecting 200 million euros, they decided to invest this money in Mbappé’s contract.

According to the renowned French newspaper Le Parisien, PSG offered Mbappe an ultra-contract. The 23-year-old footballer would earn 50 million euros a year, only Neymar and Messi (€67m), who also play for PSG, and Cristiano Ronaldo (€62m) earn more.

Mbappé currently receives €25m, so his salary would double. But that’s not all, PSG would pay Mbappé a €100m bonus. An absolutely outrageous sum that has only been surpassed eleven times in the history of football transfers – and now the Parisians would only pay it for keeping their own player, not for any reinforcements.

Only, in effect, it would be a reinforcement. PSG want to win the Champions League at all costs, and although they have the star duo of Messi – Neymar in attack, the team is carrying the youngest of the two on their shoulders. Without Mbappé, PSG would have had much bigger problems in the league, and against Real Madrid in the Champions League eighth-final, it was also he who saved PSG’s 1-0 win in the last minute with an individual action.

If the Parisians had lost Mbappé, it would have been a huge setback. Messi is undoubtedly an accomplished footballer, but he is not so keen on PSG and cannot pull the team together on his own. Neymar, on the other hand, is constantly injured and can hardly be relied on in the most important moments.

It is Mbappé who is PSG’s main weapon this season, although few expected it. So they don’t want to give up their speedster in Paris at any cost and are trying to make him stay with anything, even this outrageous contract.

And what are the chances of Mbappé staying at PSG? Honestly, not very high. If Mbappé hasn’t signed by now, he has made it clear that he doesn’t care so much about the money, but wants to leave for Real Madrid. That said, this astronomical contract is unlikely to convince him anymore, moreover when Los Blancos aren’t exactly offering him peanuts either.
