It’s great to be a game away from the finals. We are starting to have memories of 2019, says Alexander-Arnold
One step is enough for Liverpool to reach the final. They beat Villarreal 2-0 in the first semi-final and in the return leg they only need to lose by two goals to regain the most valuable trophy in football after three years. Trent Alexander-Arnold is already starting to reminisce about his ride to the final.

Liverpool are clear favourites in this double header, although Villarreal must not be underestimated. The tenacious Spanish side has already knocked out Juventus and Bayern Munich, and has also cut its teeth against the English big club.
But the Reds weren’t going to leave anything to chance. From the very first minute, they took the reins of the game and pounded their opponents. They didn’t open the scoring in the first half, but after a crushing start to the second half, they scored two goals and it was all over.
Jürgen Klopp’s charges take a two-goal lead to Spain and have one foot in the final. One eye is already on the duel in Paris.
“It’s great to be one game away from the final again. We had a lot of tough opponents and hopefully we can get there. When you get that close to the final again, it starts to bring back memories of the feelings of the 2018/19 season,” said Trent Alexander Arnold at the press conference.
“We have a lead that we have to defend and we have to be able to do that. We know that we can’t be stupid and accept their game. 2-0 is a good lead but it’s dangerous and we can’t underestimate anything,” added the Liverpool right-back.
