It’s going to be a busy summer at Old Trafford again! Who will Manchester United target when the next transfer window opens?
Manchester United will probably be looking at virtually every position in the summer transfer market. We can certainly count on the arrival of a striker, a midfielder or a defender, either central or central. Let’s take a look at the most interesting players who are in the game.
Manchester United will probably be looking at virtually every position in the summer transfer market. We can certainly count on the arrival of a striker, a midfielder or a defender, either central or central. Let’s take a look at the most interesting players who are in the game.
Victor Osimhen
Fast, strong, great leaping, a clinical finisher and a great weak left foot, all these things make Osimhen a great striker, which is confirmed by his stats. In fact, he has scored 21 goals in 26 games for Napoli this season. And we’re talking about a 24-year-old striker.
It is no wonder that the whole of Europe is interested in the Nigerian hitman, including Manchester United, who will certainly be looking for new reinforcements in the summer. And Osimhen fits perfectly into coach Erik ten Hag’s team!
However, many have already seen that it is not easy to negotiate with the owner of Naples, when many times he does not even hear the huge sums that are offered to him, as the Red Devils management found out in the case of Kalidou Koulibaly, whom they failed to acquire.
The Italian outfit acquired the Lagos native in the summer of 2020 for €75 million, which of course suggests that any potential suitor will have to offer much more!
However, there could be a slight problem here with the sale to Manchester United currently being dealt with. If the whole situation is not resolved by the summer, the owners’ willingness to buy big stars might not be such.
Jurrien Timber
the 21-year-old stopper is clearly the most valuable player that coach Johnny Heitinga has in his squad. Without him, Ajax’s defence is perhaps unthinkable. he has already made 14 starts for the Dutch national team.
Timber has all the attributes of a modern stopper and will probably be in high demand in the summer. Manchester United will be very involved here too, according to reports, you can guess for whom…
Timber is under contract at Ajax until 2025, just like Osimhen, so two things will be in play – a new contract or a departure. Whether the skilful defender ultimately decides to further develop with the Dutch outfit or leave is unclear, but what is almost certain is that if he decides to change jersey, it will be Ajax’s biggest summer sale.
What is very real, however, is that the Red Devils will look for an edge-back and prioritise that position over a central defender. But letting TImber get away won’t be one that Hague will want, which he has made no secret of anyway!
Jude Bellingham
It’s almost unbelievable how complex a footballer Bellingham is at 19 years of age. In 32 games in a Dortmund jersey, he has scored 10 goals and assisted 6 more. He is one of the key figures in Borussia’s great campaign this year, which was only ended by Chelsea on Wednesday.
Like the two previous players, the English midfielder has a contract at Dortmund until 2025. But all the top clubs are also trying to get Bellingham and in my opinion it will be very difficult for Manchester United to get him, certainly harder than Osimhen or Timber.
However, if he comes to Old Trafford, he could form a formidable centre duo with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, who if they click, will be quality ahead of the vast majority of other midfielders.
