Barcelona still haven’t signed a new head coach for the A-team. But that could change soon.
Speculation is gradually turning into reality and Xavi’s return is getting closer and closer. The Catalan legend himself has admitted that he has an agreement with the club.
“I’ve been talking to Barcelona for a few days, it’s done. Now everything depends on the talks and negotiations between the clubs, they need to reach an agreement,” Xavi revealed after Wednesday’s Al-Sadd game.
“I really want to go home now. I hope it will be possible. I have a contract here, so the clubs have to negotiate. They already know my position,” added the apparently future Barcelona coach.
Xavi’s departure is already widely expected in Qatar. Even the Al-Sadd captain revealed that the whole team is sad to see him go. “But he will be coaching a big club like Barcelona,” Abdelkarim Hassan also looked for positive aspects of the coach’s end.
Xavi himself said goodbye to all his charges after the game. At least, that’s how his behaviour after the final whistle seemed according to the world media.
Can Xavi build on his successful time in Qatar in Barcelona?
