It shook us! I would like to apologise to the fans and all the boys for the mistake, said goalkeeper Mandous after Feyenoord
Ales Mandous was the central figure in the return match against Feyenoord. Unfortunately, not in a positive sense, the former goalkeeper of Olomouc Sigma made a mistake especially on the second goal and Slavia could not react to this goal. What did he say after the match?
Ales Mandous was the central figure in the return match against Feyenoord. Unfortunately, not in a positive sense, the former goalkeeper of Olomouc Sigma made a mistake especially on the second goal and Slavia could not react to this goal. What did he say after the match?
Slavia went into the match with Feyenoord as a slight favourite and even though they were down from the second minute, they managed to equalise soon and dictate the pace of the match.
However, in the 59th minute a cold shower came when Aleš Mandous tripped over his own foot on a cross and fed the ball to Dessers, who rounded him and sent his team into the lead.
“I got the ball from Taras, I wanted to turn it around. I saw their striker was there. I ended up wanting to pass it a little differently, my thoughts clashed, I kicked with my other foot to the standing leg.
It was all wrong, wrong goal. I would like tothank the fans for the way they acted because it means a lot to me,” Mandous told the club’s website in a post-match interview.
Mandous was backed by coach Jindřich Trpišovský, who noted that he had played an excellent game up to that point. Unfortunately, mistakes like that happen.
“It shook us. I would like to apologize for the mistake to the fans and to all the guys who are great. Unfortunately I let them down like that,” he added.
