Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96 and fans at the Olympic Stadium in London decided to honour her memory with the national anthem. Her 70-year reign is something admirable and quite extraordinary. Her son, Charles III, is now on the throne.
The first thing to mark this event is the national anthem. The words change from God Save the Queen to God Save the King.
After a poignant and emotionally powerful moment, the home players, marked by this event, were not getting into the game as much as they needed to.
In the first half, the Hammers didn’t even fire a single shot at the opponent’s goal and went into the locker room with a 0::1 scoreline
But then came the second half and the home team dominated. Excellent substitutions by David Moyes. Bowen, Paqueta and Antonio came on after the break.
In the 69th minute, the former converted a penalty kick to level the match at 1-1. Emerson scored 5 minutes later and Antonio made it 3-1 in the 90th minute.
The hammermen, fighting in honour of the late queen, managed to turn the match around and the 3 points remain at home as expected!
