Cologne started the new Bundesliga season on a positive note. In three games, they collected two wins and only one defeat. On Saturday they managed to beat Bochum, the newcomer among the elite. The lion’s share of the credit goes to debutant Tomas Ostry.
Midfielder Tomáš Ostrý spent the whole of last season on loan in Karviná and it is already clear that he could and should benefit from a year in the domestic league.
Ostrák was not known by so many people when he returned to his homeland, but his performances have been a big draw. He was clearly one of the best players not only in Karviná. He regularly proved that he had been in Cologne for several years.
And now he has finally made his debut for a Bundesliga team. Although he came on the pitch in the 88th minute with the score 1:0 for Koln, his arrival proved to be crucial for the final result.
Three minutes after coming on, Ostrák assisted the goal that sent Cologne into a two-goal lead. Bochum reduced the score to 2:1.
You can watch the action for yourself. You will find it at 7:35.
Ostrák assisted Cologne’s winning goal and flew into the Bundesliga like big water. He has definitely claimed the attention of his coach, who might start giving the Silesian native opportunities on a regular basis.
