On Sunday, two teams will enter the qualifying round with the aim of grabbing a historic qualification to the Euros. Israel will challenge Kosovo, with both teams waiting to take part in the top event. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Israel are happy with last year, having dominated Group B of the Nations League in the company of Albania, Iceland and the eliminated Russia, and will face prestigious opponents next year. Now he would like to go to the Euros.
Kosovo too has hopes of qualifying, having made it through to the barrage four years ago. In last year’s Nations League Group C it fought for first place, eventually finishing second behind Greece, leaving Northern Ireland and Cyprus behind.
Israel’s key figures
The home side will be looking to build on the current form of Fulham winger Manor Solomon, author of five goals since the start of February. Celtic striker Liel Abada has netted 12 goals and assisted seven others.
Kosovo’s key figures
On the away side, Vedat Muriqi has been firing in the Mallorca jersey, with the lanky striker netting 12 goals and assisting three times. Amir Rrahmani is a stopper at Napoli, currently one of the best clubs in Europe.
What to expect and what to bet on?
Israel is rocking at home, taking advantage of the raucous atmosphere. It has lost only one of its last eight matches on home soil, for example, to Austria. It has scored at least two goals in five of its last six games.
Kosovo is not doing well at all away from home, having won only one of its last six matches away from home. It has played Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus, Greece twice and Northern Ireland once.
Given Israel’s home dominance, Solomon’s Premier League form and Kosovo’s away woes, I think the Israelis will not falter and open the group with a win.
