According to Italian media, AC Milan are now working on the summer transfer of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The Chelsea of London player and based on Fabrizio Romano’s information is interested in this potential transfer, negotiations are said to be going well. The Rossoneri have identified the 27-year-old midfielder as a priority target.
As the Milan derby in the Champions League semi-finals, for example, has already shown, AC Milan simply need to strengthen. We wrote an article earlier about why the Rossoneri are currently only fifth in the league table and going through a playing crisis.
However, AC management is already working on one potential transfer as they are currently in talks with Chelsea over the transfer of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
It is the 27-year-old midfielder that the Rossoneri have identified as their number 1 priority for the summer transfer window. He would take an imaginary thorn out of the Milan team’s side, as he is exactly the kind of player Stefano Pioli’s squad needs.
Especially in the current situation, where AC central midfielder Ismaël Bennacer has been sidelined for six months by a serious knee injury, for which he underwent surgery this week.
The Italian media had already written about the San Siro club’s interest in Loftus-Cheek at the beginning of the year. However, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has taken the speculation further. Negotiations between AC and Chelsea are already at an advanced stage.
Moreover, according to this information, Loftus-Cheek is interested in a transfer to Milan, it would be a permanent transfer. Therefore, both clubs must now agree on the terms of the transfer.
It should be noted, the London native is under contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of June 2024, so he should be available at a reduced price. However, according to Sportitalia, it is not the transfer fee that should be a problem for Milan.
The key aspect will be the player’s salary. Loftus-Cheek is currently earning £6,240,000 a year, or £7,176,000 in euros. He would thus become the Rossoneri’s most expensive player, as the currently injured Bennacer takes the most. That’s €7,040,000 a year.
Loftus-Cheek has been in the Chelsea organisation since youth and has never worked outside the Premier League before. He has played 152 games for the Blues, scoring 13 goals and assisting 18 others.
