Is Rashford getting back to his old form? Against Arsenal he resembled his old self
Marcus Rashford practically single-handedly brought down Arsenal. Two or three years ago there would have been nothing strange about that, last season it would have been shocking news. But the Manchester United alumnus is back to his old self after a dip in form.

Rashford has hit the big football like crazy. He spiced up his debut in adult football in the 2016 Europa League semi-final when he scored two goals for Midtjylland. He then made his Premier League debut when he scored two goals and one assist in a 3-2 win over Arsenal.
Cut to September 2022 and Rashford again fired a win over Arsenal (3::1) with two goals and one assist. But things certainly weren’t all that smooth.
The Manchester United alumnus gradually established himself in the A-team and by the 2018/19 season he was already the driving force of the team. He boasted a 10+6 record in the Premier League, adding two more goals and one assist in the Champions League.
The next season was even better. Rashford netted 17 goals and added 7 assists in the Premier League. Fans admired his speed, dribbling and finishing. He had a very good season the next season too, with a record of 11 goals in the Premier League, adding six goals in six Champions League games and two more in the Europa League.
But last season saw a huge decline. Rashford not only completely lost his numbers (4+2), but his performances were pretty dull, he looked pretty bored on the pitch, he was throwing away chances. Quite simply, it was a very different Rashford than the one who captivated Old Trafford as a teenager.
There have even been voices raised as to whether the 24-year-old striker should leave and restart his career elsewhere. That hasn’t happened, Rashford has remained loyal to the Red Devils and things are starting to click again under the new coach.
First with the winning goal to set up the win over Liverpool, then he assisted the winning goal against Leicester. And then came the aforementioned gala performance against Arsenal.
Rashford first passed the ball to Antony for the goal, then ran in behind the defence to a beautiful pass from Fernandes and scored the winning goal. He then added an insurance goal after a pass from Eriksen.
After just six games, the 24-year-old striker has almost matched his tally from last season (3+2). So it seems that Hag Rashford has been rebooted. And the whole of Manchester can benefit from it.
