Former MMA fighter Chael Sonnen has posted a video in which he questions Prochazek’s shoulder injury that caused him to vacate the UFC welterweight title. What did he say about the Czech fighter?

Chael Sonnen is quite a controversial person in professional circles. The former MMA fighter, who has worked in the UFC or Bellator, now devotes himself to the role of a TV analyst and is very active on his social networks.

He often turns the public against him overseas with his unpopular and often utopian views, but Sonnen knows very well that controversy gets people’s attention.

Sonnen has caused a big stir on his youtube channel, where he regularly posts about the happenings surrounding mixed martial arts. He even questions the injury to Jiri Prochazka in a video he posted in which he suggests middleweight champion Jamahal Hill as the next opponent for middleweight champion Alex Pereira.

A serious shoulder injury just weeks before his title rematch with Glover Teixeira meant that Procházka, at the likely insistence of the organization, gave up his title and devoted himself solely to the rehabilitation process. The latter was attacked by Sonnen, who doesn’t like the video shared by Prochazka immediately after Hill’s fight with Teixeira at UFC 283.

In it, Prochazka congratulates the newly crowned champion Hill for a great performance and winning the division title. However, he immediately added a war cry that was coming. Implying that he planned to take the championship belt back into his hands once his injury healed. But Sonnen noticed a detail that convinced him of his crazy thesis.

“I can’t help but notice that there’s no bandage on him,” Sonnen said in a podcast on his YouTube channel. “The shoulder was supposedly in such a crazy condition that they ran out with the guy and took his championship belt. That doesn’t require any rehab straps?” wondering about the situation that Procházka has no bandage on his operated shoulder in the mentioned video.

“I have to say it’s a bit strange. First they feed us about how the guy is being tested through USADA record and then suddenly they pull him out because of a shoulder injury that doesn’t require any bandage,” he questioned Procházka’s injury.

He was referring to recent media reports that Procházka is the sovereignly most tested athlete for banned substances in his body among professionals across various sports.

Procházka underwent shoulder surgery six weeks ago. That’s enough time for most of the wounds to heal and for the rehabilitation process to begin. Purpose accomplished, controversy stirred, however this post is rather one of the more utopian ones from Sonnen.

The former American wrestler is often teased for the fact that he is arguably the best MMA fighter, but has not won a championship in the organizations he has been in. Prochazka, by comparison, won it after three fights in the top MMA league in the world.
