Is Hazard’s end near at Real Madrid? I’m not stopping anyone from leaving, says coach Ancelotti

Eden Hazard has still not paid back to Real Madrid the amount for which the famous Spanish club acquired him from Chelsea and probably never will. All indications are that he will leave in January. And the sum he will leave for will certainly not be anywhere near the one he came for.

Eden Hazard has been a Real Madrid player for more than two years. He came to Spain in the summer of 2019 for a considerable amount of money, namely 115 million euros.

At the same time, the Belgian played only 52 competitive matches for the club, during which he scored 5 goals and added 9 assists. He has been plagued by frequent injuries. No wonder his value has fallen to 25 million euros.

However, even before the arrival of coach Carlo Ancelotti, it was the case that when Hazard was healthy, he was given the opportunity to try and repay his trust. But the Italian strategist does not approach the Belgian star in this way.

Recently, Ancelotti let it be known that he simply prefers other players even though Hazard is healthy. His place in the line-up is permanently taken by the talented Vinicius.

Then, during his last press conference, the Real Madrid coach hinted at a possible departure of Hazard in the winter.

“Never in my career have I forced any player to stay at a club if he wanted to leave,” Ancelotti commented on speculation about the Belgian’s departure.

Asked whether he would again field Vinicius instead of Hazard, who would then sit on the bench, he replied in no uncertain terms: ” Without any doubt, yes.”

Hazard, then, is not really off the hook. The question is where he might head after his time at Real Madrid.
