More Czech goalkeepers have come through Manchester United recently. One of them is 21-year-old Ondřej Mastný, whose contract is slowly coming to an end.

Ondrej Mastný joined Manchester United in 2018 when he was just 16 years old. The talented youngster signed a three-year contract, which was then extended and expires next year.

He spent the last six months on loan at Northern Irish side Portadown, with whom he was relegated to League Two. Mastny himself has played nine games in which he experienced the bitterness of defeat three times. The club’s performance improved, but it was not enough to keep them up.

It is probably clear to him that his fate at Manchester United will soon be sealed and, given the unclear fate of the other Czech goalkeeper in the Red Devils’ service, he too must consider other options.

One of those could be an engagement at his parent club, from which he is headed to Sstrovy. According to the information reported by iDNES, Jihlava are in talks about his possible return.

Here, however, various statements differ somewhat. Sports director Lukáš Vaculík denied the information regarding the negotiations and says he has not been in contact with him.

Another perspective on the matter was provided by the player himself, who stated that the entire transfer is in negotiations and that he would like the move to go through.

The Czech goalkeeper would really like to find an engagement in which he can play regularly. He wanted to have the whole thing settled before the start of the current season, but unfortunately that didn’t happen.

If the return to the Czech Republic doesn’t work out, there is also an engagement in the second Dutch league. Now he is waiting for a statement from Manchester United, which must give the green light to his move.

Next, it has to be decided whether it will be a permanent transfer or just a one-year loan. It all depends on what plans the club’s management has for him. One of the options is to stay in the youth selection and finish the remaining year of his contract in case Manchester don’t let him go anywhere this year.
