The famous owners of a footballing sensation called Wrexham and Gareth Bale have been snapping away together on Twitter about a possible return back to playing football. What has Ryan Reynolds promised if Bale returns for at least one season?

That would be a huge summer bombshell! Wrexham are a current football sensation thanks to the takeover by famous American actors, whose happenings are now being followed by fans around the world.

The football world cannot remember a club playing in the unprofessional fifth tier receiving such huge attention. The duo of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who bought the Welsh club for £2.5 million, are in charge of everything.

Their games are regularly watched by sell-out stadiums. The influx of new sponsors, led by TikTok, has also been huge. The Welsh side is also the only non-professional club ever to appear in a FIFA game.

Wrexham, however, is the third oldest football club, so it boasts a long history. The fact that buying this club wasn’t just a cry of boredom for the actors is evidenced by the footage of the stadium itself, which shows how much they enjoy every game.

Rob McElhenney even cried tears of joy after the recent promotion to the fourth division. However, the league promotion itself is just the start of a long journey that the owners hope will one day end in the Premier League.

Now the priority for the club will be to focus on the next season and do as well as possible in the higher competition.

Gareth Bale’s sensational return?

That Wrexham will bring in a few new faces ahead of the new season is to be expected, given the progression. However, no one expected that a five-time Champions League winner would be involved.

The truth is, however, that it would make perfect sense. Wrexham are one of the most famous clubs of our time, despite their participation in the lower competitions. To boost the media attention around the club, the famous actors would certainly have no problem using their influence and especially finances to entice Gareth Bale to return.

But how did it start? McElhenney posted a video on Twitter inviting Gareth Bale to a round of golf, promising not to spend four hours coaxing him to return for one last magical season.

Gareth Bale shared the post on his official account. Before long, Reynolds himself responded. “I’ll shave a golf course on Rob’s back if you give Wrexham one more season,” the famous actor commented on the post.

Only time will tell if this is a banter between the former footballer and the club’s owners. But it would certainly be interesting to see Bale and his actions in the fourth English league.
