Ireland has struggled through qualification and has basically no chance of qualifying. In four matches, it has won a single point from a draw with Azerbaijan, and has also lost to Luxembourg and Serbia.
The Serbs are the opposite. They lost only to Portugal and thanks to a better score they are even first. They beat the Irish 3:2 in their first match, which obviously gave them strength and confidence for the rest of the qualification.
Despite their poor form, the Irish have a nominally good squad, with most of the starting line-up playing in the first or second English league. Matt Doherty plays for Tottenham, Aaron Connolly wears the Brighton jersey.
Aleksandar Mitrovic operates at the tip of the Serbian attack, one of the stars of the English EFL Championship scored two goals in the last game. Other big names like Sergej Milenkovic Savic and Dusan Tadic can also be found in the team.
Ireland are struggling in attack, scoring more than one goal in only one of their last six games. Serbia, on the other hand, has scored one goal after another, with two or more in four of the last six games.
Given the bad atmosphere in the Irish cabin, I think the Serbs will win.
