So far, Inter can and do shine with a positive mood, having defended the Italian Cup in the week before and having reached the Champions League final. Saturday’s game against Atalanta will be a straightforward battle for the Champions League, with the home side needing just one point to secure the TOP 4.

Atalanta, on the other hand, must score points, ideally to win. From fifth place, they are three points behind fourth-placed AC Milan. With two rounds to go, AC are two goals better off. Moreover, the team from Bergamo has won only one of the last three rounds.

Inter’s key players

Milan are led by Lautaro Martínez, the Argentine striker and international has netted 27 goals and assisted ten times. Central midfielder and European champion with Italy Nicolo Barella has scored eight times and added ten assists.

Atalanta’s key figures

The visitors again rely on Ademola Lookman, the agile English winger scored 15 goals and assisted six times. The exact same record is held by forward Rasmus Højlund, who is known in his native country as the Danish Erling Haaland.

Prediction

Inter rely on a goal scoring attack, with 67 shots they have the second best in Serie A after Napoli. He has scored more than once in six of his last eight games, even giving Hellas Verona six goals, for example.

That doesn’t play into the hands of Atalanta, who have been on fire defensively for a long time. 43 goals scored is the worst number in the league’s Top 7. Moreover, it has not kept a clean sheet for 11 games, in which it has conceded an average of 1.36 goals.

Considering the great well-being in Inter’s squad, which was further boosted by the Cup triumph, and Atalanta’s defensive woes, I expect the rampant home offense to run over the opponents and Inter to secure the TOP 4.
