Inter Miami sporting director answers questions about Messi’s possible arrival in the US
Lionel Messi is currently performing amazingly well and will surely be playing for Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar soon. However, the winner of 7 Ballon d’Ors has been linked with several clubs outside Europe. Chris Henderson, who is the sporting director at Inter Miami, has now been asked if there are any talks about a possible transfer.
Messi has caught his second wind this season as he already has 26 points (12 goals and 14 assists) after 18 games in a PSG jersey, the same stats he accumulated throughout last season.
It’s no wonder that the 35-year-old Argentine’s future is once again being discussed, as there is speculation about his return to Barcelona, but above all he has recently been linked with a team in the USA. Specifically, Inter Miami, where Gonzalo Higuaín is currently the top scorer.
Logically, the American journalists are very curious about Messi and have been trying to get something out of the club’s sporting director.
“I knew it was coming. It’s great that our club is associated with amazing players. But I don’t want to comment on someone who is not on our roster. But he’s really one of the best players to ever play the game,” Goal published an interview with Henderson.
The former US soccer midfielder, who played 79 games for the US national team, was not specific.
“Whatever team Messi came to, he would change it. I don’t want to speculate, but his arrival will change every league and every team,” the Inter Miami sporting director concluded.
But the fact remains that Messi has only signed a contract in Paris until the end of this season and everyone is therefore waiting impatiently to see what the Rosario native decides.
However, since he is doing really well, it is likely that he will want to stay in Europe and play Champions League for some more time.
