Steven Gerrard has extended his contract at Saudi Arabia

Steven Gerrard has a great position in Saudi Arabia and has now extended his contract at Al Ettifaq. He will stay at the club until June 2027.

The Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard will continue to coach the Saudi Arabian Al Ettifaq footballers. He will not imitate his former teammate.

In fact, he will no longer lead Jordan Henderson in the team. The Englishman and Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammate is leaving for Ajax Amsterdam.

“Steven Gerrard has signed a new long-term contract with Al Ettifaq. He is 100% committed to the Saudi club project,” renowned football agent Fabrizio Romano wrote on social network X.

Eight matches without a win

The contract of the former Liverpool captain, who has failed to win in the last eight matches in the Saudi league, has been signed until June 2027.

This will give the 33-year-old coach room to improve his record. Al Ettifaq, despite being one of the four richest clubs in the Saudi Professional League, languish only eighth in the table. They are twenty-eight points behind leaders Al Hilal.

The former Rangers FC and Aston Villa manager has a good squad of players. The team includes such players as Moussa Dembele, the former French Lyon goalkeeper, and Georginio Wijnaldum, who was beaten by Liverpool, PSG and AS Roma.

Now, the coach will have time to improve his team’s position in the table.
