The Czech national captain did not take part in the English League Cup match, but of course he was happy to watch it. In the end, the burly midfielder was able to enjoy the 1-0 win over Manchester United. It was also revenge for the weekend’s Premier League match, when the Red Devils were lucky to rob the London Stadium.

Manager David Moyes rested the most heavily used players in the match and included less busy members of the squad, including Alex King, in the starting line-up. Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice and even Vladimir Coufal were rested.

But the right-back finally got into the game, and very early. Ryan Fredericks got injured in the 17th minute and the other Czech player had to come on.

In England, Matic’s foul on Coufal is also being discussed, which could have easily been a red card after VAR’s intervention. The Serbian midfielder hit Coufal with his knee just below the waist, but VAR avoided the whole situation.

Ironically, one of the biggest uproar was raised by a tweet from Tomas Soucek, who didn’t get involved in the match and it just confirms the fact how big a name he has built up in England.

Hammers fans joke that Tomas Soucek is not only a great player but also a football agent. Supposedly he was heavily involved in the transfer of Vladimir Coufal and who knows what happened with Alex Kral. Anyway, the connection between West Ham and Czech players is working well so far.
