Jiri Prochazka watched UFC 285 on the scene

The return of the kings! That’s what you could call the next numbered UFC 285 event, which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

While longtime flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko lost her throne when she succumbed to a choke from the first Mexican champion in history, Alexa Grasso. For his part, living legend Jon Jones handled his return after a three-year fight fast with complete grace, cementing his GOAT status.

But Jiri Prochazka, who watched the action from the scene, also grabbed a piece of the glory at the gala of the world’s biggest MMA organization. The Moravian samurai is currently in the rehabilitation phase after a serious shoulder injury from the end of last year.

Following that, he relinquished his status as the organization’s welterweight champion, leaving the vacant title to Jamahal Hill. This is because he absolutely outclassed veteran Glover Teixeira in their title fight in Brazil in January.

After the fight, the American fighter then admitted that if Prochazka is ready to fight during the summer, he will be the one who gets the chance to face him in his first defense.

According to available information, the rehabilitation of the Czech fighter is going according to plan. We could see his return to action soon.

The gala also featured a staredown with current champion Hill

The two potential rivals met today at the aforementioned UFC 285 and faced each other for the first time. As is usually the case with the UFC, the cameras were of course not absent for this moment and the audience was able to watch their mutual staredown in the stands.

This gave the champion Hill the opportunity to get a pretty close look into the eyes of his next opponent. He could thus recognize the fire that drives the Czech representative to regain the champion of the organization.

Let’s hope that the health of the Moravian fighter will allow his early return to the cage and Hill will get a taste of the famous “BJPéček”. Walk is eager to get back what is rightfully his.
