I’m waiting for you and I’m gonna stab you in the neck! Disgusting threats against Holger Rune
His career is interesting to follow. Holger Rune came into the circuit like a hurricane last year and there is still something going on around him. But he’d certainly like to forgive himself for that experience. In what situation has the Danish tennis player been the subject of threats?

Rune in the spotlight
Alternating better and worse seasons and also members of the coaching team have accompanied this player for almost a year now. The 20-year-old Dane is back in the care of coach Patrick Mouratoglou and seems to be back on track.
He played the final in Brisbane this year and reached the semi-finals in two other tournaments. Most recently last week in Acapulco, Mexico.
This ATP 500 event was definitely not a failure. Rune was not up to the challenge of Nora Ruud, whom he lost to in a three-set battle.
But it was probably this match that someone didn’t take. Soon afterwards, the tennis player’s mother received a very unpleasant email.
Disgusting threats
Holger’s mother Aneke confided the contents of the message. The following words have little to do with tennis and sport in general.
“I’m waiting for you and I’ll stab you in the neck,” the incriminating email reads, among other things. The author says he is looking forward to the event being reported everywhere. Further details probably do not need to be disclosed.
The tennis player’s mother has published the aggressor’s email and one can only hope for his capture. “If anyone knows the id*** in question, tell them that death threats are illegal,” Aneke added.
Finally..
Health first. Including mental health. Whatever the motive of the email writer, let’s hope it serves as a deterrent to those who let their emotions get too much of a grip. Let’s hope that the budding prestigious tennis event in California will induce other thoughts in (not only) Rune.
