Manchester United is in a crisis in terms of play and results. Last time on Saturday, they lost 4-2 to Leicester, being the worse team. Fans are once again calling for a change of coach.
In the last seven competitive matches, Manchester United have recorded four losses, only winning twice.
After the draw with Everton, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had enough time to prepare at least some of his charges for the next game. But it didn’t happen.
The Red Devils failed to beat Leicester on Saturday. The Foxes beat them 4:2 in a shootout, but apart from that Brendan Rodgers’ charges were clearly better in the match.
Solskjaer has incredible players at his disposal. Names such as Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba should be awe-inspiring in their own right. But they are not. It simply doesn’t work on the pitch, long term.
Manchester United fans have been calling for a change of coach for some time now, but the intensity of that call keeps changing. Now it has increased rapidly. You will find virtually no positive comments under a post on social media reporting the result of the game against Leicester.
Some are less scathing, others more so. Among the mildest is a kind plea: ‘If you love Manchester United, leave. We thank you for everything, but by your incompetence you are causing us to no longer have a place in our hearts for you.”
Many fans have written to say that they wish their beloved club would lose every game until Solskjaer is sacked, or possibly resigns himself.
It will be interesting to see how long the Norwegian coach can hold out under such pressure.
