If we don’t make the LM final, it’s a disaster. It would be a shit season, says Inter stopper
Inter Milan are one step away from a dream that no one at the club could have imagined at the start of the season. All they need to do to reach the Champions League final is to avoid a two-goal defeat to their city rivals.

Champions League final? If you’d said that to Inter Milan at the start of the season, you’d probably have been laughed at by the club and the fans.
Especially after the group stage draw. Inter were placed in the “group of death” together with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.
When it was discussed where Plzen could make some points, it was hoped to get some points with Inter. And the complete opposite happened.
The Milanese side beat Barcelona at home, drew away and advanced from second place to the eighth round of the most prestigious competition.
In the eighth round, they faced Porto, who were the favourites. However, Inter managed to win at home again, drew in the return leg and advanced to the quarter-finals.
Here, too, he was pegged as an underdog as he faced Benfica Lisbon, who were in great form. However, Inter clawed their way into the semi-finals after a 2-0 away win and a 3-3 home draw.
It was only here that they were slight favourites for the first time as they took on rivals AC Milan. But Simone Inzaghi’s charges kept the same standard and won the first match.
They won 2: 0 in a paper away game and tomorrow in front of their home fans they only need to not lose by 2 goals to qualify for the Champions League final.
“If we don’t qualify, it will be a disaster. It would be a shit season. Little things like this make the difference, we are one game away from a great season, but everything can change with one game,” Inter stopper Francesco Acerbi told a news conference.
