If Vinícius dances after the goal, there will be trouble, threatens the Atlético captain. Dance, both Neymar and Raphinha defend him

On Sunday we will see a duel between two irreconcilable rivals. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid often spark each other, and that will be the case again. And it’s Vinícius Junior who’s stirring up the emotions.

And with what? Nothing, really. Just the fact that he’s in great shape, enjoying his football and entertaining the fans. He’s in great form in the new season, scoring five goals and three assists in eight games, and he’s been on the stat sheet in every game except the one against Almería.

And as Brazilians are wont to do, he likes to dance. After his goals, he performs similar creations that we used to see with Ronaldinho, Robinho or Neymar.

But this is not at all to the liking of Atlético Madrid players and fans. They consider it a lack of respect for the opponent.

“How would the Wanda Metropolitano react if Vinícius scored and celebrated with a dance?” asked journalist Daniel Blanco of Atlético Madrid captain Koke. “It would be a problem, for sure,” replied the Colchoneros midfielder.

Pedro Bravo, president of the Association of Spanish Agents, said the same. “Vinícius must respect the opponent. If he wants to dance, he should go to a samba festival in Brazil. In Spain, he must respect his opponents and not play the monkey,” Bravo said sharply on El Chirinquito.

But it drew a huge response. World-class players immediately began to defend Vinícius, with Neymar being the first to do so.

“Vini, dance,” he first tweeted. “Dance, dribble and be yourself. Enjoy the game and be happy. Go for it my boy, the next time we score we will dance together,” the Brazil captain added on Instagram.

“Always!” replied Vinícius and added a photo of the Brazilian national team with Lucas Paqueta. “Watch out! This is just the beginning. Dance, dance and dance,” the West Ham midfielder, who also often celebrates his goals by dancing, said.

And Real Madrid’s winger also received an advocacy from a player of his biggest rival, Barcelona. “I want to see a dance. I want to see joy,” Raphinha wrote on Instagram.

Other players such as Richarlison and Paulinho have also defended Vinícius. So the question remains, if Vinícius scores on Sunday, will he dance in front of an angry Colchoneros crowd? And how will the Wanda Metropolitano stadium react? The Madrid derby kicks off at 9pm on Sunday.
