Ibrahimovic: I’m the best player to ever play in MLS. He has nothing but praise for the competition
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is close to winning another trophy at the age of 40. With four rounds to go in Serie A, his AC Milan lead the league table and have everything in their hands. The Swedish footballer’s career could already be over. Isn’t he? He owes it to the MLS overseas.

It was 2017. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was playing in a Manchester United jersey, but unfortunately he seriously injured his knee and uncomfortable questions started to come up. Could this be the end of his career? Can he still come back?
He probably wouldn’t be able to in England, so he decided to take a bold step. In 2018, he moved to the LA Galaxy, where he played overseas in the MLS. He made it clear that this was definitely not his exit from the scene, quite the opposite. He talked about going back to Europe. And as he said, he did.
“I’m very grateful for the chance in MLS. They gave me a chance to feel alive again. But the problem was that I was still too alive, so I was too good for the whole league. That’s what I proved. I’m the best player to ever play in MLS. It’snot about my ego, it’s the truth,” he told ESPN.
Ibrahimovic admitted that he had a good time in MLS and enjoyed the competition. Overall, he had only positive things to say about how the competition is doing marketing. He also believes that it was the best possible way to get in shape after a serious injury.
MLS has exceeded Ibrahimovic’s expectations. He said everyone told him the stadiums were empty, but the opposite was true. So the Swedish footballer is glad for the overseas experience.
The AC Milan star has even hinted that he could still return to the MLS, perhaps by starting a new club, emulating the equally legendary David Beckham.
