Match Day between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira is here! Jiri Prochazka was a substitute and will not take part in the fight, because all of them have met the weight limit and nothing prevents the fight from taking place. However, Procházka sent a message to both fighters.
“The weight is done, but both guys look healthy and ready, so I wish them a great fight. I’ll be there to watch them,” Procházka wrote on his social media.
Jiri will be watching the whole fight in the arena and will certainly not attend the fight. However, he need not be disappointed, he is expected to go for the title fight after the fight, no matter what the opponent is.
He is quite logically next in line, having been the understudy. However, Walk has said in the past that we shouldn’t expect any over the top gestures from him.
Coach Martin Karaivanov also confirmed in a pre-tournament interview with MMA Shorties that they will try to figure out the situation regarding the title fight.
“It’s not contractually taken care of. It’s an agreement between us. After we arrive (in Abu Dhabi) we will find out right away and try to get in touch with the relevant people. To make sure how it will be and try to communicate how it will be after the match and possibly make arrangements before the match,” he said.
Czech fans should theoretically be more keen to see Poland’s Jan Blachowicz win, because in that case, the tournament is expected to be a European tournament with their match!
