I was aiming for the top, losing is no shame, says Kincl after unsuccessful title fight
Patrik Kincl has a big game behind him. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful. Roberto Soldic wins the title after three rounds. How did the Czech fighter rate the fight?
Patrik Kincl has a big game behind him. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful. Roberto Soldic wins the title after three rounds. How did the Czech fighter rate the fight?
He resisted bravely, tried to challenge his opponent tactically, yet Patrik Kincl did not bring the title fight in the Polish KSW organization to a victorious end. He fell in the third round when the referee stopped the fight.
“Unfortunately, I think I let you down. It will happen. Who aims high, then falls from high. That’s what happened to me. I’m not falling down. There’s no shame in losing to someone like Soldic. I was aiming for the highest and unfortunately it didn’t work out,” Kincl said on his Instagram after the match.
The Hradec Králové native regrets the loss even more because he said he has never felt such support from the fans in his life. Moreover, he felt good before and during the match.
“The first round was fine. I thought he wasn’t that fast and tough. In the second round, when I got him underneath me, I felt how strong he was. I probably left too much power in there. It was still good though. In the third round, I was watching his back hand and I thought he was going for the chin. But then he hit a good bottom and that made the difference, took the wind out of my sails,” he added.
Soldic stopped nearly half of his fights in the first round, and none of his fights lasted more than three rounds. So Kincl really has nothing to be ashamed of. He is, after all, one of the best fighters in Europe.
