A lot has indeed been written and said about Neymar recently. Especially regarding his departure from Paris. However, the latest information not only talks about him staying in the French capital, but even about the Brazilian star’s desire to end his career at PSG!
There will always be more than enough speculation about Neymar. Back at the beginning of the new year, French media wrote that the Parisian outfit had lost patience with the thirty-one-year-old Brazilian and were ready to sell him.
Now the well-known journalist David Ornstein has come up with the information that Neymar wants to not only stay at PSG, but even end his career.
However, he also admits that a return to Barcelona or a transfer to the Premier League for really big money is never unrealistic. Neymar has thus made it clear that he has no need to go anywhere and can easily end his career in the French big club.
However, should a financially superior offer come along, the Brazilian international will keep the door open. It should be added, he has a contract at PSG until the end of June 2025, according to the Transfermarkt website.
The most expensive player in the world, contract until 2025
However, he has a clause in his contract that, if activated, will automatically extend his current contract until 2027. So, if Neymar stays at Paris Saint-Germain for just four more years, overall, he would have a truly significant career in the capital.
PSG invested a record €222 million in the star player in 2017 and are well aware that should he transfer, it would be difficult for the club to recoup such a sum.
It should be noted, Neymar still remains the most expensive player on the planet. According to The Athletic, the Mogi das Cruzes native doesn’t even want to push for a potential transfer himself. Although PSG have recently crashed out in the Champions League eighth-finals for the second time in a row, they can still achieve a lot with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
So far, Neymar has appeared in 173 games across all competitions for PSG, scoring 118 goals and adding 77 assists. In addition, he has celebrated four French championship titles, three Coupe de France championships and two more in the League Cup.
