Pavel Kadeřábek has decided to end his national team career. The reason is mainly his health, at his age he needs a longer regeneration to play without problems. In an interview with iSport he described what all led him to the end.
Pavel Kadeřábek played 48 games for the national team. He formed a strong duo with Theodor Gebre Selassie, then with Vladimir Coufal, who was preferred to him.
Kadeřábek was plagued by muscle injuries, which caused him to miss the autumn national team. He agreed with coach Šilhavy.
Now he would certainly be useful, because Coufal is injured. But the Hoffenheim defender has decided to end his national team career.
“I played less than half of the games, I was struggling with an injured ankle and calf muscle. And now at the beginning of the year the muscle again. Mostly it’s reinforced me to make a terribly difficult decision for me.
I want to have as long a football career as possible. People will probably be surprised, I reckon. It was similar with Vladi Darida, he finished at thirty-one, I’ll be thirty in April and the aspects are recording all this,” he said in an interview with iSport.
The former Sparta Prague defender simply has to make different decisions in his professional career. At the moment, he needs to regenerate rather than add games.
Moreover, he has to think about his family and if he misses the national team meetings, he will see more of them. In short, he has already fulfilled his national team duties.
