I understand everyone’s frustration. We must stick together and fight together, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag urges everyone

On the ball, a dominant Manchester United tried to find a way to Sam Johnstone’s goal, but to no avail. All 19 shots failed to find the target and in contrast, Crystal Palace managed to score in the first half to take three points from Old Trafford.
The experience of Roy Hodgson, who hasn’t lost any of his last five league games at Old Trafford, is undoubtedly behind this result. Three times Crystal Palace won, once they drew and once the 76-year-old coach drew with Watford in Manchester.
After seven league rounds, Crystal Palace are two points ahead of Manchester United in ninth place thanks to Saturday’s win. The frustration of the fans is becoming palpable as they start booing their players.
“It’s a frustrating start to the season for everyone. We have to stick together, fight together and improve. I fully understand the boos from the fans,” said ten Hag after the game against the London outfit.
English experts, however, point to a glaring lack of creativity. Compared to other top teams, Manchester United is still far from the performances they are putting in and the top four positions are slipping away from them round by round.
“We only allowed the opposition three chances in the whole game and all three came from direct kicks. We created some good positions, but we made bad decisions. We have only ourselves to blame for the loss,” the Dutch coach concluded his assessment of the match.
It was the inability to make any combination and create big chances that cost the Red Devils points again. The compact performance of Crystal Palace players was enough to win the game.
Manchester United next awaits a pair of acceptable opponents in the Premier League in the form of Brentford and Sheffield United. After Manchester City, they will next face Fulham, Luton and Everton.
With the exception of the city derby, in all cases these are duels from which the Red Devils must regularly pick up points. If that doesn’t happen, the question of whether the Hag is the right man on the bench will start to be addressed.
Even more so when there are reports once again that Manchester United will be bought by Qatari sheikhs after all, who are expected to close the whole deal soon.
