I couldn’t say no to Manchester United, Rangnick says. He also spoke about Ronaldo. What are his plans?

Michael Carrick led Manchester United to a 3-2 win over Arsenal on Thursday, and subsequently announced that he is leaving the club. Ralf Rangnick will take over from him and is excited about his new job.
“If Manchester United contact you, you can’t refuse it. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest. I am happy to work with the players I have here,” the German coach expressed.
The Red Devils’ gameplay has not been ideal this season. The defence is not working too well. And that is what the new English manager wants to focus on. On average, Manchester United concedes two goals per game, which is too many, according to him. So he calls for more balance in the team.
There is a lot of talk about Cristiano Ronaldo’s role in the team that Rangnick will lead. The German football philosopher claimed six years ago that the Portuguese was too old and that he would not want him in his team. But now he has him in the team.
“You always have to adapt to what players you have available. I have never seen anyone who is this fit at 36. But it’s not just about him. Theteam has to develop as a whole,” the experienced coach is clear.
Manchester United have been waiting for the title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, last winning it in the 2012/13 season. Rangnick would like to finally end that wait. However, he is aware that the club needs to find a new path, something that has not yet been achieved.
“The club has had no continuity in signing players and sticking to the club DNA. Going forward, we share the same view with the board members. It will be important that there are not too many changes in leadership,” Rangnick concluded his comments.
Rangnick will make his coaching debut on the Red Devils bench on Sunday. His charges will host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
