I can still do it! Beautiful UFC fighter had trouble making weight, solved it by cutting her hair
The UFC is hosting another tournament this weekend, again unnumbered and again in Las Vegas. However, four of the fights were marred by the fact that at least one of the fighters did not weigh in. And it could have been five, but Shanna Young came up with an elegant solution.
The UFC is hosting another tournament this weekend, again unnumbered and again in Las Vegas. However, four of the fights were marred by the fact that at least one of the fighters did not weigh in. And it could have been five, but Shanna Young came up with an elegant solution.
Shanna Young may not be the most well-known fighter in the UFC, but she has now made herself known in a very interesting way. She had a weight problem before the tournament, which will take place on Saturday night.
And she wasn’t the only one. After all, the entire weekend tournament has four fights in which at least one of the fighters didn’t weigh in. The thirty-one-year-old American could have taken care of the fifth when she failed to meet the flyweight limit on her first or second attempt.
The limit is 56.7 kilograms. Young failed to meet it the first time by 400 grams, and on her second attempt she outweighed it by about 100 grams. And since failing to meet the weight equals a reduced paycheck, it was easy to come up with the quickest possible solution.
And we did. The Salem, Virginia, native decided to give up some of her hair, so she committed to a quick hairstyle change. The quick idea worked and Young took care of a rather unique event.
It’s worth noting that the fighter’s opponent will be Miranda Maverick. She will be a slight favorite in the fight. After all, Young is fighting for her future in the UFC, as she has lost two of her three fights.
However, her last fight ended in a win and she is not going to give up her commitment to the best organization in the world. Her overall record now stands at 8 wins and 4 losses.
