I can handle the left back, the goal against the Dutch is still in my memory, says Kadeřábek

After seven years, the Czech national team will play a match in the knockout phase of the European Championship on Sunday. How is the Dutch defender Pavel Kadeřábek looking forward to the match?
We already published an article about Kadeřábek’s goal in the Netherlands’ net, the Hoffenheim back then put the Tulips out of the Euro 2016 race for good.
“I scored three goals for the national team and one of them in this match. Every player remembers all his national team goals, so I still have that game in my memory.”
The Czechs defeated the Dutch 3:2. They were able to play relaxed, they already had promotion in their pocket, while their opponent had to win.
“It was quite a crazy game. The Netherlands were playing for everything, while we were no longer under any pressure, we were de facto no longer interested in anything. It ended 3:2, so I have only the best memories of that game.”
Kadeřábek may well enjoy the atmosphere of the Euros on Sunday from the pitch for the first time in five years. Left back Jan Bořil is sidelined and Kadeřábek, though right-handed, has experience at the position.
“I’ve played on the left side a few times in Hoffenheim. It’s over your foot. I feel better on the right side, but I think I’ve mastered it. So if the coach points to me, I’ll be ready.”
Kadeřábek and his teammates will enjoy the eighth round in Budapest, where the stadium is full capacity. They can count on a lot of support from the Czech fans.
“It will be challenging. In Budapest it will probably be played in front of a full stadium. The Netherlands have tremendous quality, especially up front. They are really great, so we have to be careful,” concluded Kadeřábek.
