However, he did not stay without an engagement for long and in January he agreed on a contract with the Cypriot second league team FC Ypsonas. How is the experienced midfielder doing in his new team?
In the summer, Hušbauer signed as a free agent with the Cypriot first division club Karmiotissa Polemidion. In his new position, he was expected to become a key player who would help the club to save itself among the Cypriot elite.
Unfortunately, the club from Pano Polemidia was struggling with financial problems and was forced to agree with Hušbauer on an early termination of cooperation. The former Slavia player had only been with the club for four months.
The thirty-two-year-old midfielder managed to play only nine games in which he did not score a goal. After the end of his contract with Karmiotissa, he was able to look for a new job as a free agent and found it very quickly.
Since he fell in love with life and football in Cyprus, he agreed to sign with the second league team FC Ypsonas. The former national midfielder has agreed a contract until the end of this season, after which he will most likely move again.
The club from the Limassol district operates in the second Cypriot league. And some fans may be surprised by Husbauer’s decision, as the club is not fighting for promotion to the top flight, but only for salvation in the second league.
The club’s management brought in Hushbauer because of his wealth of experience, which can help the club to save itself. FC Ypsonas are currently in second place in the relegation group with 33 points.
It has a ten-point lead on the relegated clubs, and Ypsonas can be expected to save itself in the second league. Hushbauer has started nine games since his January arrival, scoring three goals.
His mission will most likely be successful and help the club to salvation. After the season he will address his future, and it can be expected that his services will be in demand in Cyprus, as well as in the Czech Republic.
