Thirty-two-year-old Czech midfielder Josef Hušbauer is without a contract. His club informed about it on their social media, as the web ones are not working.
Karmiotissa of Cyprus is a club from the small town of Pano Polemidia, which is home to around 3,500 people. Yet it plays in the top competition.
In it, they are in the worse middle. But why did they decide to terminate the Czech midfielder’s contract? The club has not informed about the reasons, but it is likely to be financial reasons.
Indeed, the club had to move to a pitch in the neighbouring town of Kato Polemidia and the rent is indeed expensive. It is not surprising that Karmiotissa was looking for a reason to resolve the situation.
Hushbauer was without a shadow of a doubt one of the highest paid players and should be looking for a new deal from the winter.
But that might not be such a big problem if the suitors look at his workload in recent seasons, especially in Cyprus.
Although he has only played eight league games for Karmiotissa, and many of them were mere minutes, he was a steady member of the line-up at his previous club Anorthosis Famagusta.
In the 2021/22 season he played 29 games, in the previous season he played 30.
