The Dubai tournament was an anticipated tennis event. And it was definitely worth it. Why is triumph by Ugo Humbert worthy of attention and what negative statistic did Daniil Medvedev confirm? The negative speeches of some players also drew a lot of attention.

Humbert wins again

French tennis player Ugo Humbert had a great week of tennis. He had to fend off his opponent’s match points during the tournament, but still won the title in the end.

The 25-year-old won the sixth title of his career in Dubai, beating Kazakhstan’s Bublik in the final. And you don’t want to play a guy like Humbert in the final.

The Metis native improved on his excellent statistics in the final duels of the tournament, winning his sixth final on the circuit he entered. In that regard, he is the third tennis player in the open era to accomplish such a feat.

Humbert has thus pushed himself into the elite fifteen in the ATP rankings. The last time the French flag was this high was during the heyday of Monfils.

The fresh winner from Dubai will also officially become the best left-hander on the circuit. French fans will thus have a real iron in the fire at the upcoming event in Indian Wells.

Humbert also defeated last year’s winner Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals. He continues his negative statistics. He has never been able to defend his tournament triumph.

Emotions in Dubai

The ATP 500 tournament also brought an unusually large number of negative emotions. Andy Murray’s attempt to improve his results ended unsuccessfully for Andy Murray, who also relieved himself by hitting his racket into the umpire’s umpire.

The semi-final between Kazakhstan’s Bublik and Russia’s Rublev was a highlight in this regard. Bublik was the first to show his worth, devastating the racket and accusing the umpire of not being able to count.

His opponent, however, overcame him. The Russian’s brutal slashing of the linesman stood out from all the other outbursts of emotion in the tournament and resulted in Rublev’s disqualification.
