We haven’t seen this in Czech women’s football for a long time. Prague Slavia surprisingly fell in Liberec 1:2 and dropped to second place behind Sparta. Except for the games against them, they haven’t lost in the league since 2008!

Women’s football is constantly moving in the country, Prague S is slowly becoming a competitor, which has now been proven by the players of Slovan from Liberec.

They beat Slavia at home, which is something practically unthinkable. The match played on artificial grass did not go well for them.

Twenty-four-year-old Marjolen Nekesa Wafula scored in the 22nd minute and Slavia celebrated the lead. However, the Slovan players did not give up and scored at the very end of the match.

First, substitute Michaela Harvilová scored after a mistake by goalkeeper Olivia Lukášová, then in the 91st minute Aneta Buryánová scored from outside the box.

The Liberec players could celebrate a huge victory, especially the goalkeeper, as the twenty-one-year-old Harvilová is a guest of the club from Sparta, while the twenty-year-old Buryánová has played there in the past.

After all, Liberec has a lot of female footballers who have been through one of the Prague S. But back to the match itself, many people don’t realize how big an achievement this is.

The last time the Slavs fell to Sparta was in May. After all, the latter is the only opponent in the title game, which is decided exclusively in the derby. But this time it may be different.

Apart from the matches with Sparta, the last time Slavia lost points in the league was in 2013 with Slovácko, where they drew 2:2. The last defeat even dates back to 2008, when they fell to the same opponent 0:2.
