How’s Sim doing in England? The Senegalese is not playing, he has only started four games since his arrival
Abdallah Sima had a dream season in 2020/21, shining not only in the league but also in the Europa League and the top teams from the top leagues started to sniff around him. But then came injuries, a lapse in form and eventually a move to Brighton and subsequent loan spell at Stoke. But Sima couldn’t find his form in his new surroundings.
At the end of August, the transfer of Abdallah Sima to Brighton, who play in the English top flight, was officially completed. However, the latter decided to send him on loan.
Sima is currently a player of second league Stoke City, where he was supposed to play regularly and acclimatize to be a full member of Brighton next season.
But the engagement at Stoke is not going very well. Sima missed the opening game, then came on for 15 minutes against Barnsley and 58 minutes at Derby, in the starting line-up.
This was followed by a cup start against Watford and then a six-match break due to an unspecified injury.
Sima had already started for 28 minutes against Brentford in the cup after that and did not play the next four games. In total, he played only 73 minutes in the second highest league in England.
He certainly didn’t expect something like that, but the problem is not only fluctuating performance, but also injury woes. It is questionable whether he will be able to build on his form in Slavia in the future.
