5. gareth Bale – $690,000
He used to be a big star, but now he is mostly mentioned due to his huge contract, which absolutely does not match the performance of this player.
He tried to revive his career at Tottenham last season, but that didn’t work out. The question is whether there will be a suitor for his services, for now it looks more like he will stay in Madrid until the end of his contract.
3. – 4: Antoine Griezmann – $793,000
After the World Cup in Russia, he left for Barcelona with the label of one of the best footballers on the planet. However, he didn’t fit into the Catalan big club’s style of play at all.
He will spend this season on loan at Atlético Madrid, who were willing to pay his large salary. We’ll see how he fares in his new surroundings and whether he can build on his performances from his last stint at the Wanda Metropolitano.
3. – 4th place: Luis Suárez – $793,000
Another player who will spend next season at Atlético, and again from Barcelona. Unlike Griezmann, though, Suárez has impressive productivity.
After all, he was the one who shot the title last year in the red and white jersey. He took revenge on Barcelona, who seemed to have become redundant.
2. place: Neymar – $836,000
Finally, a player from the French capital comes up next. PSG is known for its huge financial capabilities. They are not afraid to invest in players.
Neymar is an exceptional footballer, of course, but he came to Paris with a mission to help the team win the Champions League, and so far that hasn’t worked out.
1. lionel Messi – $1,325,000
This was a really big transfer this summer. It may have been overshadowed only by Ronaldo’s return to Manchester. Either way, one of the best players in history came to France with the same mission as Neymar.
The question is whether this Argentine star can help PSG on their way to an earned trophy. His astronomical salary could motivate him.
