How much did Markéta Vondroušová earn at her debut in WTA Finals?

Markéta Vondroušová had a very successful season, which ended with her participation in the WTA Finals. Unfortunately, she finished already in the group, but still earned a very solid result.

Markéta Vondroušová finished the 2022 calendar year as the 92nd player in the WTA rankings. At the moment, she is already ranked sixth, which shows that the past season was very successful for the native of Czech republic.

The twenty-four-year-old tennis player performed very stable throughout the year. The biggest success came in the summer at the All England Club, where she won her first Grand Slam trophy.

Vondrousova scored very valuable scalps, when she managed to beat Pegula, Kudermetova, Svitolina and Jabeur. She lost only two sets during the whole tournament.

The confidante of coach Jan Hernych did not disappoint at the US Open, where she reached the quarterfinals. However, she was not able to keep up with the home player Madison Keys, whom she lost after 1:6 and 4:6.

Vondroušová finally secured her participation in the WTA Finals. She was ranked seventh in the WTA Race rankings with 3671 points. The draw assigned her to Group B together with Swiatek, Jabeur and Gauff.

In the end, the Czech player lost all three duels, but against Gauffova she even served for the win at 7:5 and 6:5. She had to say goodbye to the tournament in the group stage.

For her participation in the WTA Finals she earned 198 thousand dollars, which is roughly 4.5 million in Czech crowns. She also gained 375 points in the WTA ranking.
