Barbora Krejcikova capped off a fantastic year in 2021 at the Tournament of Champions in Guadalajara, Mexico. Although she did not do well in singles, she and her partner Katerina Siniakova dominated in doubles. How much did the Brno native earn?

Barbora Krejcikova had a breakthrough season in singles. She won a Grand Slam tournament (French Open), to which she added triumphs in Strasbourg and Prague. Thanks to this, she improved her ranking to the third position.

Participation in the Tournament of Champions was therefore a sweet reward for the twenty-five-year-old Czech Republic representative for her performance. Krejčíková was also the only tennis player who played both singles and doubles at the final event of the season.

In singles, she faced Karolina Pliskova, Garbine Muguruza and Anett Kontaveit in Group B. However, the French Open winner suffered from fatigue and lost all her matches. She played only two sets in total and her chances of reaching the semi-finals were gone.

In the doubles, however, things were much better. While she did not taste victory in singles, she and compatriot Kateryna Siniakova captured the Champions Tournament without a single hesitation. This added to her already rich collection of trophies.

How much did Krejcikova actually earn in just one week in Mexico? For three singles losses, $110,000, which is about two and a half million crowns. For her overall doubles triumph, $180,000, which is four million in Czech crowns.

Her total income is therefore six and a half million crowns, but this amount is before taxes. We must point out, however, that Krejčíková definitely deserves it for her work. Let us hope that she will build on her results in the coming year.
