How is the public reacting to the Czech Republic’s elimination in the Euro quarterfinals?
The luckier team won, that’s just football. Almost all indicators confirm that the match was at least a draw, but unfortunately the Czech national team in Baku said goodbye to the European Championship with a 1:2 loss to Denmark.
The luckier team won, that’s just football. Almost all indicators confirm that the match was at least a draw, but unfortunately the Czech national team in Baku said goodbye to the European Championship with a 1:2 loss to Denmark. It must be noted, however, that the farewell to the European Championships was with heads held high!
What are the reactions on social media after the narrow defeat? Czech “experts” in the CT studio praised the team’s journey through the championship, but pointed out that the better team won, which according to the data cannot be agreed with.
The football public, including real experts, perceived the performance and the path of the Czech team very positively. So do English fans and even a supporter from Bangladesh.
Reactions to the elimination of the Czech national team
“It’s a pity, today the Czech journey through the tournament is over, but thanks to the national team for their efforts and football skills. You did not disappoint at the Euro, gentlemen, on the contrary! Thank you for that!” wrote Seznam Zprav’s chief reporter Luděk Mádl.
The performance of the Czech players was also praised by former national team stopper Tomáš Ujfaluši. “Thanks for the wonderful matches, we are proud of you.”
“Thanks to the Czech national team for their performance at the tournament. I believe that this team has yet to reach its peak,” wrote expert Karel Häring.
“It was not a good game, but I feel we were not worse. Pity about the situation from the 5th minute (bad decision + poorly defended corner). Overall, the performance at Euro 2020 exceeded expectations, thank you,” wrote Jiří Vrba, a member of the board of SK Slavia Praha.
Czech fans were joined by an unusual Bangladeshi discussant! His comment enriched the discussion under the Czech national team’s Twitter post.
“Please get your act together and get ready for the World Cup qualifiers. You have won our hearts regardless of the result. You will come back stronger than ever. You are one of the best attacking teams in the world. I love you from Bangladesh,” wrote a Czech fan from the Asian country.
The message from West Ham was also received by national team players Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal. One of the London club’s biggest fan sites noticed the excellent performances of the Hammers in the national team jersey.
“We are proud of you (Soucek and Coufal)! See you soon,” reads a tweet from West Ham Central.
